"It
is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is
essential is invisible to the eye." -
Antoine de saint -
Exupery
Before painting, I explored
poetry,
song writing and drama as creative outlets.
Kerouac and the Beat
Scene, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen created the links that were
eventually to take me to Zen masters on the spiritual path.
It was after I stayed in Poone,
India
at the Meditation Centre of Osho that I first started to paint.
I was given the name of "Nipun"
which is Sanskrit for skilful.
My first exhibit was 'Giants Castle 'in The
Sussex Open in 1992, in the same year I had my first
exhibition "Zenworks" in Brighton U.K. this was
held at the "First Light Gallery".
If I burst out in laughter for no apparent
reason, then I know a painting is working. Picasso and the
Expressionist's are conscious influences, as is the weather and the daily
mystery of life.
